Elizabeth Smart Marries Matthew Gilmour In Hawaii

Elizabeth Smart, who at 14 years of age was kidnapped and held for nine months by traveling preacher Brian David Mitchell, married her fiance, Matthew Gilmour, in Hawaii Saturday. It was announced last month that Smart was engaged to the Scotsman and their wedding reportedly was set to take place this summer. In an effort to keep their wedding free of paparazzi and the like, their wedding date was moved up so as to keep their nuptials private. A family spokesman explained: “Elizabeth’s desire was for what most women want — to celebrate her nuptials in a private wedding with family and close friends. She decided, about a week ago, the best way to avoid significant distraction was to change her wedding plans and to get married in an unscheduled ceremony outside of Utah.” The spokesman went on to say that the couple were beaming as they left the Laie Hawaii Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints following their wedding, and they exchanged their “I do’s” in front of family and a few friends. Last night David and I were invited to the Hollywood premiere of Warrior starring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton and we had THE best time. I have been looking forward to Warrior for months now, mainly because I’ve become a pretty big Hardy fan. But the more I saw of the film, the more convinced I was that it would be a quality film. I’m happy to say that I was not wrong about that assumption. While there have been many movies about “fighters”, this is the first major film about Mixed Martial Arts fighters and that fact alone made it really interesting for me.

Warrior has a lot of the same plot points of other fighter movies but what sets it apart are the fantastic acting performances by Hardy, Edgerton and Nick Nolte (who plays their estranged father) but also the scarily realistic MMA fight scenes. You get a lot of story in this film but you also get a lot of action. While I personally feel that the story gets muddled down a bit with too much stuff going on, it does regulate itself enough to be throughly enjoyable. Normally, I HATE watching fight scenes … I just don’t get any pleasure from them … but I was so engrossed in this film that the brutality didn’t really bother me much. Warrior has a lot of heart … a lot. You end up rooting for everyone. I was very impressed with this film, I think you might too.

Unfortch, David and I didn’t make it to the afterparty … and therefore, were unable to meet Tom Hardy. David flies out to NYC today so we didn’t’ want to stay out too late. Ah well, I’ll stalk meet Tom some other time.

Tonight, my friend Jen and I are going to see Def Leppard and Heart! I’m so excited!! I sincerely hope YOUR Wednesday is just as awesome :D

Yesterday was a totally chill day for me … one that was a blessing, to be honest. David went with his brother Aram to meet Jodee’s parents and I ended up staying home to finish up with work and just, well, do nothing. I did manage to get out the house for bit to pick up some new music at Amoeba but basically, I spent my whole Sunday lounging around … playing records.

I picked up a few amazing vinyl albums on my last visit to Amoeba but yesterday’s trip was to pick up a few 80′s comp CDs. I’m trying to build the ultimate 80′s playlist so there are a few compilations that I absolutely needed to acquire. Amoeba‘s used CD section is just amazing so it was cheaper for me to buy the actual CDs used than to download the songs individually. I still have a few comps to pick up Amazon‘s used section will help me complete my collection. I’ve been pruning my digital music library and have been backing it up to a few different drives. I have TENS of THOUSANDS of songs in my music library and when I thought my drive was failing, I panicked. I now have 3 backups of all of my music on different drives (2 of those drives are kept separately in storage). It would be disastrous if I lost it all so … yeah, prudence will hopefully save the day.

Today should be fun … another lazy day … nothing at all to complain about. Happy Labor Day, y’all!!

Ray J recently spoke out about Vivid Entertainment possibly selling the rights to his sex tape with Kim Kardashian, Kim K Superstar for $30 million to Kris Jenner an unknown buyer - and thinks it's a great idea!

Except now, he has one condition regarding the business deal - he wants a piece of the cash!

According to a letter his lawyer recently fired off to Vivid's Steve Hirsch, which demands that he keeps partial copyright ownership:

"Any attempts to transfer the copyright outside of these parameters will result in filing a motion with the courts to seen an injunction of any sale until Ray J's rights are protected. My client rarely has a conversation with industry professionals where the Tape has not been mentioned or questioned...no amount of money can relieve him from this nightmare."

Oh PUL-EASE!

Who does this guy think he's kidding? We're sure he's made quite the pretty penny off that thing, and all that nicely worded legal jargin is basically saying he wants to ca$h in MORE!

It's really happening. After 42 years, All My Children is finally filming its final scenes this week.

There are plans to bring the show back in an online web series, but so far no deals with the cast and crew have been made yet.

As for star Susan Lucci, it's finally hitting her that this could very well be the end of Erica Kane. She says:

"Walking out on to the set for my first scene yesterday morning, I have to say, I started to feel it. "I had to rein my emotions back in because I had to work ... but the setting was spectacular! Perfect for the last day of shooting."

But don't expect all your questions to be answered. She adds:

"Oh, I think it's spectacular. Like any great novel, when you put it down you say, 'Well, then what?' I knew she wouldn't tie it up in a neat bow, and she really didn't. There are several cliff-hangers."
